COMPRESSOR WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONS
ALL REMANUFACTURED COMPRESSORS SUPPLIED BY AUTO-AIRCON EXCANGE CARRY A 6 MONTH/20 000KM WARRANTY.
ALL NEW COMPRESSORS SUPPLIED BY AUTO-AIRCON EXCHANGE CARRY A 12 MONTH/30 000KM WARRANTY.
IN ORDER TO VALIDATE THIS WARRANTY - PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
Incorrect compressor installation procedures can damage your new unit and void your warranty. Please familiarise yourself with the following steps prior to installation.
1 The air-con system must be flushed with a machine that circulates and filters a solvent that dissolves grease and contaminants and must be able to be purged from the system without leaving a residue.
2 The receiver drier or accumulator must not be flushed and re-used. It must be replaced with a suitable replacement of the same capacity as the original.
3 The expansion valve or orifice tube must be replaced to ensure proper system performance. Make sure that the rating of the replacement unit is equal to what was originally installed i.e. 1 ton, 1.5 ton 2 ton etc.
4 The condenser, if parallel flow must be replaced with a suitable parallel flow replacement unit as these types of condensers cannot be properly flushed. Do not substitute parallel flow replacement unit as these types of condensers cannot be properly flushed. Do not substitute with a serpentine or tube and fin unit as they are less efficient and will cause higher head cause pressures which will turn compressor failure.
5 Please ensure that the replacement compressor is suitable in terms of performance and capacity to the original unit. Always try to replace compressor type for type, keep it original.
6 All AAE re-man compressors are filled with 150ml of their specified viscosity of P.A.G. oil. Please refer to our oil quantity charts to see what the total system quantity requirements are and add the rest to the system when gassing. New compressors will have different quantities of oil in them depending on the manufacturer’s specs. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL COMPRESSORS OIL LEVELS ARE CHECKED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION!!!!!
7 Never mix oil types i.e. Esther and P.A.G. and always try to ensure that the correct viscosity is used.
8 Once the system has been flushed and all components replaced the system must be evacuated before re-gassing. This is essential because if any moisture is left in the system, it will affect performance and ultimately cause premature compressor failure. please service your R.R.R. machine regularly to ensure that it is achieving at least 500 microns of vacuum within 5 minutes.
9 Please ensure that only approved refrigerants are used to re-gas. Only 134a from reputable suppliers such as Afrox and A-Gas are acceptable. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER SHOULD 406a OR 415b BE USED AS DROP-IN REPLACEMENTS. THESE REFRIGERANTS ARE DANGEROUS AND IN SOME CASES FLAMMABLE. If it is found that 406a or 415b was used no warranty claims will be entertained and shall be considered null and void.
10 Please ensure that there are no leaks in the system after re-gassing. Remember that the refrigerant returning to the compressor in the suction line is what cools it. If the system is low on
refrigerant then the compressor can run too hot causing irreparable damage. Also make sure that the correct amount of refrigerant is put into system, see gassing charts supplied by AAE.
11 For off-road vehicles such as earth moving, tractors, harvesters and mining machinery, warranty is restricted to the conditions under which the vehicle operates and AAE has the right to decline any warranty claims should they feel that the operating conditions are extreme. Generally, warranty on these types of vehicles is 500 hours of operation.
12 Please ensure that all engine and auxiliary fans are operating correctly. Never allow head pressures to exceed 250psi with fans running. If this occurs, contact our technical people to assist you to find the problem.
13 In some systems the compressor must cycle out when a certain coil temperature is achieved. Please ensure that this does occur otherwise the coil will ice up and cause damage to the compressor. An early sign of this is the clutch slipping, causing pulley bearing failure and ultimately complete front-end failure. Later Aircon-systems use variable displacement and compressors which do not cycle in out.
14 When submitting a warranty claim, please ensure that all relevant documentation such as your invoice from AAE and your invoice to your costumer accompanies the compressor.
15 The warranty, if approved, covers only the replacement of the compressor and excludes any consequential damage and / or costs arising there from.
